Two years ago the boys received their first TINKERTOY set, and ever since that day they have continued to be one of their favorite toys to play with. The TINKERTOY sets often travel with us to grandma’s house and have gone on a number of road trips including a 20 hour drive to Michigan. While the colored booklet and product packaging contain ideas, children can build anything they imagine, my children often build a variety of animals, spaceships, and have even build helmets with goggles pretending that they are a spy. The pieces are easy to snap together, and unlike other biding sets that they have played with, they’re meant to stay together until you pull them apart, which makes it perfect for the children to play dress up, and make different hats/helmets. Their rockets and blast through the air and their vehicles can drive around the room without pieces falling off.
Turn off the video games and tablets, and bring out a box of TINKERTOY for hours of creative play.
