Still looking for that perfect gift for Mommy or Daddy to be this Holiday Season? Maxi-Cosi has recently come out with baby gear. The Maxi-Cosi Leila Collection is a baby gear collection that includes a travel system, high chair, and play yard. The collection is absolutely gorgeous, I love the brown/blue color. I have always been a fan of browns/blue, our bedroom set is brown/blue and our living room set is browns. The shade of blue does not scream out boy and is perfect for either boys or girls.
The Maxi-Cosi Leila Play Yard includes a Bassinet/Changer that can hold a newborn/infant up to 15 pounds.
The Play Yard can be used for a child up 35 in or when the child can climb out and is surface wash only. A travel bag is also included. Retails for $189.99.
The Maxi-Cosi Leila High Chair features two seat surfaces: a plush cushion support for
newborns and a soft, easy to clean foam seat for infants and toddlers. It includes 3-recline positions, 7-height positions, 4-footrest positions, and an easy adjust harness. Includes a dishwasher-safe insert tray for extra-messy meals. Retails for $149.99.

Set Up:
I love the new Maxi-Cosi Travel System in Leila, it comes with a lightweight stroller, car seat, and base. The Travel System came in one big box and was easy to put together, and when I say easy I mean super easy. All I had to do was slide on the four wheels, pop on the child cup holder and open the stroller and it was ready to use. It doesn’t get any easier and it literally took seconds.
Light Weight Stroller:
5 Point Harness: The stroller has a five point harness, which is great for squirmy little boys like Baby Boy. The shoulder and lap straps are fully customizable and easy to adjust. Shoulder straps are a must have with Baby Boy as he can squirm himself out of just the lap belt. The buckle is very easy to use, one side locks into place and then you slide the other side in to lock into place, you do not have to do both sides at once like some strollers.
Fully reclining seat: Baby Boy loves to take naps in the car so by the time we get to a store he is sound asleep, although it is not necessary that he lay down in a stroller it is more comfortable. I was surprised at how far back the seat lays, it almost lays flat.
Easy to use breaks: To engage the front breaks you simply push up or push down with your foot, same with the backs. We live on a hill and often go on daily walks, we usually see at least one neighbor and we stop and talk so it is important that we have a break that is easy to engage and keeps the stroller still so it will not roll down the hill.
Lots of Storage Room: There is plenty of storage room underneath for diaper bags and shopping bags. The big storage area is a big plus for me although it is harder to get at when the car seat is attached since you have to recline the seat, of if your child is sleeping with the seat reclined. The storage is slightly accessible from the front if you need to grab something small out of a bag, or your keys out of the diaper bag.
Cup Holders: I always seem to have a water, an iced coffee or some kind of drink when we go out so I love having a parent cup holders, the two that come with the Maxi-Cosi Travel System are great, I have a place for my drink as well as my husbands. In addition to the two parent cup holders there is also a small space for a phone or an iPod, I normally keep my phone in my pocket, I would have preferred a a little storage area for my keys. The two cup holders for the child come in handy for sippy cups, there is not only room for Baby Boy’s sippy cup, but there is room for Little Man’s also.
Fold & Easy to Store: The directions say that the Maxi-Cosi Travel System folds up with one hand, I have tried numerous times and I can’t get it with just one hand, it always takes me two. I love how the stroller is lightweight but I wish it folded up a little smaller, it takes up a lot of room in the trunk of my Camry. We have limited space in the Camry as is and it would not be able to fit it in the trunk when we go on trips, but it would fit perfectly in the back of our SUV. I do like how when folded it stands up straight which is a plus when we have to store it in our garage.
Cosi35 Car Seat:
I absolutely adore the Maxi-Cosi Car Seat, it is so soft and feels so much more comforting then our old infant car seat. It was designed with Baby’s safety in mind and has an easy to use 5-point harness to keep Baby safe. There are also two different inserts for newborn babies; a head support for newborns, and a body support for tiny babies.
The Cosi35 Car Seat was very easy to install and fit secure in our Camry and Yukon. I love the Bubble Level Indicator, it allowed for easier installation, and let me know when the base was in the correct position. We use the latch system, but if you do not want to use the latch their is a little compartment in the base to store the latch, that way you don’t have it dangling around and getting in the way.
The Maxi-Cosi car seat can be used with or without the stroller. I think it is so much easier when babies are young to use a travel system, it is so much easier to lift the car seat out and place it in the stroller, no having to unbuckle and buckle or having to wake a sleepy baby. The Cosi35 is very easy to attach the car seat to the stroller, it simply locks into place with the child tray. The only downfall is when you place the car seat on the stroller, the stroller seat has to be reclined, which makes the storage area harder to get to.
Overall I loved how soft the material was and especially the color scheme,, I loved the light blue and brown, the only downfall was I could never get it to close “one handed” and I wish it folded up a little smaller.
The Maxi-Cosi Travel System – Leila, would make a great gift for Mommy or Daddy to be!
