One of my favorite memories growing up is playing in our sandbox. My siblings and I used to spend hours and hours making roads and driving all of our trucks around. Our sandbox was larger than most, at least 20×15 and I always envisioned having a large sandbox for my children as well. Now that we’re settled in our new house, we have some big plans for our back yard, it’s a work in progress but we’re finally making it our own.
We finally got around to building the kids a new swing set last month, we drew up some plans on a scrap piece of paper and headed to the hardware store. We tried to replicate our previous swing set/climber that we had to leave behind when we moved but instead of making a picnic table under main platform, we decided on a sand box. We were going between a sandbox and an enclosed fort and I’m glad we went with the sandbox, the boys use it almost daily. It’s on the smaller side for 3 boys, but they still all find a way to fit. I’d like to eventually add another sand space as off of the sandbox so that they have more room to move around.
With a new sandbox come new sand toys!
John Deere 8″ Monster Treads Tractor with Wagon and Loader
The John Deere 8″ Monster Treads Tractor with Wagon and Loader has been a hit with all three of my boys. It’s the best of both worlds when monster trucks and John Deere collide in the John Deere 8” Monster Treads Tractor with Wagon and Loader. The classic Monster Treads tractor with wagon features oversized tires, and a removable cart. It’s not only perfect for indoor play but the sandbox too!
Andrew has become obsessed with tractors after sitting on his grandpa’s tractor a few months ago and I had been wanting to pick up a few toy tractors for his birthday. I spotted a couple in the toy aisle at Walmart, including the John Deere 8″ Monster Treads Tractor with Wagon and Loader, and it was on my list of birthday ideas for him. Tractor has to be on his top 20 words said each day, and is constantly pointing them out when we take walks or drive around town. He’ll even hear our neighbor turning on his John Deere tractor and will sit in the driveway and watch him the whole time.
The John Deere Monster Treads Tractor has many characteristics that a real tractor has. When the wagon is hitched, it drives and backs up just like a real tractor, and is great for hauling sand and rocks. Move the front loader up and down with to scoop up sand and rocks and transport them from one area to another. The big bouncy tires roll easily over carpet, grass and sand, and since they’re soft plastic they’re quiet and won’t scrape wood floors.
