There’s just something about summer I love. Okay, well maybe it’s more like 2,352 things. Spending time outside with the kids, bike rides, neighborhood walks, stress free mornings, friends, boating, and of course the food. I could spend every day surrounded by friends and creating tasty beverages and grilling. My kids would agree as they love when I surprise them with something fun.
I hit the jackpot earlier today surprising them with Frozen Shirley Temples.

I took a trip down memory lane as I picked up 7UP® at Walmart this past week. Shirley Temples made with the iconic lemon lime flavor 7UP is a childhood favorite. I can remember getting so excited when my dad would make them on special nights, complete with a cherry or sometimes even two on top.
There’s just something refreshing about the crisp, clean taste of 7UP on a hot summer day. It’s even better when mixed with cherry and served frozen.
Frozen Shirley Temple
Ingredients:
- 2 cups 7UP
- 1/4 cup grenadine syrup
- 2 cups ice
- 1 Tbsp lemon juice
- 1 Tbsp lime juice
- Maraschino cherries
Directions:
- Combine 7UP, grenadine, ice, lemon juice, lime juice in a blender.
- Blend until smooth
- Pour into a glass & garnish with cherries
- Serve immediately.
A Frozen Shirley Temple is the perfect refreshing beverage to go with the Johnsonville Original Brats that I picked up at Walmart for lunch. The Johnsonville Original Brats are a summertime favorite and you can almost always find a package in our freezer, ready for the next cookout. We’ll sometimes serve them with onions & peppers, with spicy ground mustard, or sliced into bite sized pieces on skewers.
