This morning we headed off to Jacob’s Kindergarten orientation and got to meet his teacher for the first time. We had such an awesome experience at his preschool with amazing teachers for the past two years and I was hoping that the move to elementary school would go just as smooth. The teachers at his preschool went above and beyond and it was more of a close-knit family atmosphere instead of just dropping him off for a few hours each day to learn. Jacob really connected with Mrs. V his preschool teacher in 2011-2012 and he never stopped talking about her, he still doesn’t to this day. His second year of preschool he had a different teacher but was so excited when he learned that Mrs. V was going to be a helper one day a week. He would get so excited on Thursday knowing that Mrs. V would be there. Although he hasn’t had her as a full-time teacher for over a year, he still asks about her all the time., we were beyond excited when we got a letter stating Mrs. V would be Tyler’s preschool teacher this year!
Teacher’s have such a valuable role, especially when the kids are young. Not only do they teach them valuable life lessons, but they are also their role models. I couldn’t believe the first time I heard Jacob recite the Pledge of Allegiance all by himself at home, he was so proud that he learned it at preschool, or the time I asked him to write his name and he gave me a piece of paper with his first and last name written on it.
