Thank-you to Prince Pasta for providing products for today’s post.
Today’s Wednesday which means… it’s Prince Spaghetti Day!
Growing up in the Boston area, every Wednesday night was Prince Spaghetti night in our house, my mother would prep a huge pot of pasta & sauce along with a side of garlic bread. My dad would always shout out, “It’s Wednesday, it’s Prince Spaghetti Day!” but I never knew where that line came from until recently, I just thought it was something his mother always said, and she passed down the tradition.
If your from the Boston area you may remember Prince’s historic ad campaign which featured an Italian woman leaning out her window in Boston’s North End, yelling for her son, Anthony, to come in for supper and hollering the renowned slogan, “Wednesday is Prince Spaghetti Day!”
October is National Pasta Month.
October is National Pasta Month, and to celebrate Prince has partnered with Christine and Carla Pallotta, chefs and owners of local Boston Italian favorite, NEBO, to create a series of videos that provides families with simple recipes using Prince pasta. The Pallotta sisters grew up in the North End, mere blocks away from where Prince was founded.
