For the past few months every time we head to the grocery store my husband mentions about smoking a brisket, but he still hasn’t. When we living in Virginia our friends used to always make it and it was delicious. I thought when I bought a smoker for my husband he finally would make it, but with the weather getting colder and colder, I’m loosing hope….maybe next spring. When I recently had the chance to head to Arby’s to try out their new NEW Smokehouse Brisket Sandwich, I just couldn’t pass it up as I have been craving brisket.
Unlike Virginia where I could drive down the road to get to Arby’s, the closest one to us is in the Mall of New Hampshire. So last week I picked up the boys from school and we headed out for a little Mom & boys day filled with shopping for fall clothes, and lunch at the food court. The Smokehouse Brisket sandwich is smoked for at least 13 hours, but don’t worry, it’ll be ready when you are at your local Arby’s, there’s no need to wait 13 hours smoking it yourself. The NEW Smokehouse Brisket Sandwich is piled high with slow-smoked beef brisket, topped with smoked Gouda cheese, crispy onions, BBQ sauce and mayo, and served on a toasted, bakery-style bun. It was delicious, and I could have easily had a few bites of a second one. This was my first time having brisket served on a roll, and it definitely won’t be the last time. The warm toasty bun and crunchy onions (one of my favorite toppings) was a huge hit. If you’re a fan of brisket, Find an Arby’s near you and try out the Smokehouse Brisket sandwich yourself.
