Taco Wreath is an easy family dinner or holiday appetizer. Made with refrigerated crescent dough and stuffed with ground beef or shredded chicken, serve with your favorite taco toppings.
This Taco Ring recipe has been a family favorite since the first day that I made it. It’s a great alternative for Taco Tuesday and makes for an easy family dinner, game day appetizer, or easy dish to serve a crowd. During the holiday season and on Christmas Eve we dress our favorite ground beef taco recipe with shredded lettuce, and top with our favorite toppings (ornaments) to resemble a Taco Wreath.
What You’ll Need To make a Taco Wreath
1 lb ground beef, cooked and drained or 1 lb shredded chicken
1.25 oz package taco seasoning mix
2 tbsp water
1 cup shredded cheddar or 4 cheese mix
2 – 8 oz packages of Pillsbury refrigerated crescent roll dough
shredded lettuce
1 med. tomato cubed
1/2 cup sliced black olives
Optional – sour cream, guacamole, salsa
How to Make a Taco Wreath.
To make this taco wreath, preheat your oven to 375. Open the crescent rolls and fan them out on a baking sheet making a circle.
Leave the crescent rolls open in triangular shape.
Cook ground beef in a large skillet over medium heat until brown and cooked through. Drain.
Mix the cooked hamburg, water, and taco seasoning in small bowl.
Add cheese, mix well.
Using a spoon, or cookie scoop, place a small amount of the taco mixture to the biggest part of the crescent rolls. Continue around the entire circle.
Tuck the ends of the refrigerated crescent dough over and then press it into it’s base.
Bake for 15-17 minutes or until crescents start to brown and are cooked through.
Top with your favorite taco toppings including shredded lettuce, tomatoes and black olives. Serve with a side of sour cream, guacamole, and/or salsa.
Taco Wreath Varieties:
Chicken Taco – Substitute one pound of ground beef for shredded chicken.
Buffalo Chicken – Instead of ground beef, taco seasoning, and water use cooked shredded chicken, 8oz block cream cheese & 1/3 cup buffalo sauce.

The Pillsbury refrigerated crescent rolls allow for easy single servings to serve at a holiday party, and you can customize to your liking with sour cream, guacamole, and salsa. The boys and I are huge fans of black olives so I diced them up and added them to the top, but you can easily serve them in a bowl on the side.
