Life with three kids including a newborn can get busy. There are days when I’m so focused on getting the kids ready, taking care of the house, driving to sports practices that I forget about taking care of myself. I love being a mom, but sometimes it gets overwhelming especially since I’m around the kids 24/7. As hard as it is I need to remember to take time for myself, I need to make sure to set some time aside, and remember that it’s okay to ask for help. Carving time for yourself is not just relaxing but it’s also good for your health.
Taking time for yourself allows you to de-stress and rejuvenate. By de-stressing and doing something that we enjoy we end up happier, healthier and feeling better. It can be as simple as sitting on the back porch for 15 minutes every morning drinking your morning coffee, or heading to the grocery store alone. Ask a spouse to clean up after dinner or get the kids ready for bed so that you can take a relaxing bath.
7 Ways To Make Time for Me:
- Go shopping by yourself, even if it’s just to the grocery store
- Go for a stroll – take a walk around the neighborhood or go for a hike
- Schedule a mani or a pedi…or both!
- Take a bubble bath
- Curl up on the couch with a good book, or watch a movie.
- Enjoy your morning coffee on the back porch
- Spend some time in the morning on YOU! Put on some makeup or curl your hair.
Prep school lunches the night before and take some extra time in the morning getting yourself ready. I know the t-shirt, jeans and messy bun look is easy & simple, but take a few extra minutes put on some makeup, curl your hair and put on a cute outfit. You don’t have to spend an hour on makeup, a few Younique products can go a long way and help you bring out your natural beauty. My go-to beauty products include eyeliner, mascara, and foundation. Younique’s Moodstruck 3D Fiber Lashes+, Moodstruck Precision Pencil Eyeliner, Touch Mineral Liquid Foundation applied with the Foundation Brush have become a part of my daily regimen. In just 5 short minutes I can feel uplifted.
Through the years I have tried a number of foundations, mostly those that can be picked up at CVS or Walmart. I don’t go all out with makeup and stick to just the basics, foundation, eyeliner, and mascara, sometimes I’ll also use a little blush or eye shadow, but nothing that takes more than a few minutes to apply. I never thought I’d spend more than $15 on a bottle of foundation until I tried the Touch Mineral Liquid Foundation from Younique. After the first try I was hooked, and I have no plans to go back to my old foundation, the foundation goes on smooth and leaves my skin looking flawless. I’ve been wanting to try the liquid foundation and Moodstuck 3D Fiber lashes after seeing all the hype with my friends, and now I wish I didn’t wait so long.
Feel beautiful and look beautiful in just 5 minutes a day. Once you give Youniques’s Liquid Foundation or Moodstuck 3D Fiber Lashes a try you’ll be hooked.
How do you take time for yourself?
