It hasn’t hit me yet that Christmas is just over three weeks away. While I usually have the house decorated and all of my shopping done by now, I have barely even started. Being sick for the past month with a never ending cold and then bronchiolitis hasn’t helped, but luckily I’m starting to feel better and looking forward to picking out our Christmas tree. Not only do I tend to go a little crazy decorating the house, but I also go all out when it comes to baking.
Making Christmas Tree Cupcakes has become a new tradition in our family, along with decorating ginger bread houses. I bake up at least a dozen or two Christmas Tree Cupcakes, line the table with a variety of colored sprinkles and edible glitter and then let the kids gather around with their friends to decorate them.
We started this new tradition 2 years ago, and now that Thanksgiving is over, our friends have been eager to come over and decorate this year’s Christmas trees. Before we got started on our annual Christmas Tree Cupcakes I needed to run to our local Stop & Shop for one major ingredient, Crisco® Pure Vegetable Oil, for the cupcakes.
I try to keep at least half of a bottle of Crisco® Pure Vegetable Oil in the cupboard at all times as I often use it for cooking and baking. Brownies, sugar cookies, and cupcakes are just a few of our favorites, you can find more great ideas here!

- Using Wilton Tip #233 on a decorating bag, pipe frosting on the sugar cone to create a tree.
- Decorate with additional sprinkles (optional)
Once the cupcakes are cooled, apply white frosting around the outside to keep the cone secure. Sprinkle with edible glitter to mimic snow.
Frost cones with a thin layer of green frosting and press onto top of cupcake, this will prevent seeing any bare cone spots.
