Thank-you to Graco for providing a Gift Card for our trip to Loon Mountain.
Weekends throughout the summer and fall months are filled with numerous day-trips and lots of driving. It is not unusual to leave our house bright and early in the morning to take a four to six hour round trip drive throughout New Hampshire. The kids have always done great in the car, and we make sure to pack toys to keep them occupied, movies to watch, and a cooler filled with snacks, lunches, and drinks.
This past summer as part of the Graco Ambassador program, we made the trek to Lincoln New Hampshire to visit Loon Mountain and their outdoor adventure center. This is our second summer visiting Loon Mountain at the request of the kids. They had a blast last summer and have been asking to return ever since. Since we spend a lot of the time in the car, it’s important to have a safe yet comfortable car seat. Trevor’s been riding in the new Graco 4Ever car seat, and has yet to complain about being uncomfortable. The two cup-holders are his favorite feature and are perfect for snacks, a juicebox, or even to hold his toys.
Our day started out at the LogJam Maze, a favorite from last year. Guests can split up into teams as they put their sense of direction to the test and try to find all four letters in the word M-A-Z-E first. After running around in what seemed to be circles for a few minutes, Jonathan and I came out on top for the second year in a row.
Throughout the day the kids enojyed bouncing around on the bouncy houses, shooting hoops in the Bunyan’s Bouncin’ Backyard, and testing their climbing skills in the SpiderWeb. The SpiderWeb is located right next to the Bungee Trampoline, so I could sit at the picnic table and watch the kids go back and forth between the two attractions.
The Climbing Wall is also located close by, next to the Bungee Trampolines. There are four different sections for the climbing wall that go from beginner to more advanced.
In the afternoon we look a trip to Loon’s Summit on NH’s Longest Scenic Skyride. Once at top, we ordered lunch at the Summit Cafe, climbed the Observation Tower and saw some amazing views of the mountain then explored the summit glacial caves where the kids enjoyed squeezing in between and crawling through caves.
Back at the base, we discovered that Jonathan weighed enough to do the zip-line this year, we still have at least to or – wait until Trevor hits the fifty pound mark.
We ended our visit with a scenic bike ride around Loon Mountain and downtown Lincoln, with the paved bike paths. We stopped in downtown Lincoln for some ice cream before heading back to Loon Mountain. A two-hour bike rental with helmet is included in the Loon Mountain Adventure pass which is the highlight of the trip for each of the boys, they loved being able to go on a bike ride with Mom & Dad.
We look forward to making a visit to Loon Mountain a yearly tradition. Unlike amusement parks in New Hampshire, there is little to no line in order to participating in each of the attractions, the longest wait was for the zip-line, as everyone has to get fitted for a harness.
