While I do miss the crawling and getting into everything stage (kinda) I do enjoying being able to leave more complex toys out, without having to worry about an infant eating the pieces. Jonathan and Trevor have always been into building ever since they were young, when they would stack wooden blocks on top of each other. Now that they’re getting older they have been enjoying the more complex building sets.

A few of these sets are still hard for Jonathan to put together himself, but with a little assistance reading directions from mom & dad, he enjoys helping out and gets excited with the finished product. Within the next 6 months to a year I’m sure he’ll be putting all of these models together himself.

This tower was one of the more simpler builds, it’s full of repetitive steps and once Jonathan caught on, he was able to complete it himself. He was so proud of himself that it has been displayed on his nightstand for the past three weeks. The only problem is that in order to build another another model, these pieces are needed so I finally talked him into taking it apart so Trevor could build a whale with a promise to rebuild it after we were done if he wanted. While this tower was easy to build, there are more complex models as well that take more time to complete.
With directions for 52 different models, that’s one model a week for your builder!
