Cake Pops have become a huge hit, whether it’s for a BBQ, birthday party, or graduation party there’s almost always no leftovers. I love how you can have them match any theme, red, white and blue for the 4th of July, pastel colors for Easter, and so on. Chocolate, vanilla, red velvet cake…the choices are endless. For my son’s pre-k graduation I decided to make Cake Pops using some of the non traditional Wilton candy melt colors that I recently found at Michael’s Crafts Store; purple, light blue, and light green, as well as chocolate. The chocolate with chocolate sprinkles always seems to be the first to go.
Making cake pops can be a bit time consuming since you’ll need to bake a cake, and let the sticks harden before fully dipping them into the chocolate. But the end result is well worth it. I love seeing the smiles on all the children’s faces as they enjoy them.
