Thank-you to Smucker’s Uncrustables for partnering with us for this back to school post featuring fun lunchbox ideas.
With two children who are active in a variety of sports, a newborn and two dogs to take care of, the mornings and afternoons can get a bit hectic in our house. I’ve finally got myself and the kids into a routine to help the time go by more smoother. Having their breakfasts, lunches, and easy to-go snacks prepped and available has been a huge help during those busy times.
Meal prep has become a part of my weekly routine, not only does it help cut down on eating out, but it allows me to stay more organized and not get over stressed. Every other month I will prep a number of breakfast foods that can be stored in the freezer including waffles, pancakes, and french toast. On Sunday nights I prep their school lunches in reusable containers, or I at least get all of the sides ready so that the morning of, I only need to fill the large area. As a Millennial Mom, I’ve caught myself searching social media too much for ideas on bento style lunches for the kids.
It’s sometimes a toss up on who has more fun, me packing the lunches, or the kids eating them. Just yesterday Trevor came home from school saying that I had to start sending in school lunches for his new teacher as well since she loved the selection.

Some weeks I’ll spend a little more time making a few fun themed lunches, while other weeks I’ll pack more simple choices. If Trevor had his way he’d choose an Uncrustable everyday, not just for lunch, but snack time as well. Today I’m surprising him with his favorite Peanut Butter & Grape Jelly Uncrustables® Sandwiches disguised as a spider, I can’t wait to hear his reaction when he gets off the bus this afternoon. The sides I prepped the other night, but I left the main section empty until this morning. I took the Uncrustables® Sandwiches out of the freezer just long enough for it to thaw a little bit so that I could press the pretzels into it for the legs and topped it with two gummy eyeballs.
The Uncrustables® Sandwiches make lunch time as easy as 1-2-3, remove from freezer, thaw, and eat! Trevor’s is a big fan eating them as is, but won’t complain if I decide to make lunch time even more fun. These convenient sandwiches are also perfect for on-the-go families, I can grab a couple on the way out the door and the kids can eat them in between school and sports practice. The kids love them and there’s no mess for me to clean up, a big win for all of us.
